I know that many articles are written on the fundamentals of Digital Marketing. But this article is a bit different from other articles. There are the same old facts and rules but we are going with a new approach and insight and to ignore the myths about Digital Marketing. Before diving into the article and know more about Digital Marketing I would like you to know the agenda of this article is about

  • The Fundamentals of Marketing
  • Digital Marketing vs. Traditional marketing.
  • CATT Marketing Funnel
  • Integrated Digital Marketing
  • Personal Branding: MassTrust Blueprint

FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL MARKETING:

  • Marketing is based on science. Not on creativity.
  • Marketing starts before creating the product.

Sales targets the individual and marketing target the general audience. As noted before marketing starts before creating the product as we build or design the product based on customer’s comfort, so here the marketing starts. Let us take an example, long ago even before cars and bikes were introduced, people used bicycles, bullock carts, tongas, and trains used to be the medium of transport. Why do you think that cars and bikes are introduced?? For the sake of difficulty in transportation from one place to another by customers or people they introduced bikes and cars which were simple and light in weight compared to tongas, rickshaws. So, we can conclude that marketing is not a new thing or concept to the people. Not only the introduction of cars and bikes, many inventions like segway, bots, vacuum cleaner, etc are also introduced based on customers’ comfort.

  • From the above laws, a point to be noted is that Marketing is not just about selling, but it is also about keeping the customer happy and satisfied.
  • Never let marketing become more important than the product.
  • Never break the trust of customers.
  • Word of mouth is the best marketing ever.
  • Advertising, sales, and copywriting are some of the components of marketing.
  • You have a good product, but marketing alone doesn’t help people discover the product but you need to have good knowledge of the product.

Here’s a quote by JOE CHERNOV

Good Marketing makes the company look smart. Great Marketing makes the customer feel smart.”- Joe Chernov

TRADITIONAL VS DIGITAL MARKETING:

The main difference between digital and traditional marketing is the medium through which an audience encounters a marketing message. While traditional marketing uses traditional media like magazines and newspapers, digital marketing uses digital media, such as social media or websites.

We can’t completely shift to Digital Marketing. As some brands such as Apple, Addidas, Nike, Puma, etc can’t stop marketing traditionally i.e by advertisements, newspapers, etc. So, we can’t say that marketing should be completely digital. There are some disadvantages of Traditional Marketing such as delayed communication, not sure results, and low conversion rate, and also deep marketing cannot be done.

CATT MARKETING FUNNEL:

CATT means Content, Attention, Trust & Transaction.

By creating useful content you can attract people by making blog posts, lead magnets, webinars. You can gain attention to your content through SEO, Social media like Instagram by making reels, and Snapchat where everyone can connect through and some paid ads. Building trust with your audience with market automation and converting your leads into customers through natural sales.

Wealth = n^ CATT

Where n is your niche where your success and wealth depends on.

INTEGRATED DIGITAL MARKETING:

Integrated Digital Marketing encompasses the idea of creating a unique form of expression that’s easy to identify in all of the channels your customer uses. It’s like using a single language to speak in different situations. That means it’s a strategy that blends all your marketing tactics.

The above picture is about the Integrated Digital Marketing framework. This framework works as an engine to the CATT funnel. The idea behind integrated digital marketing is that, while each strategy doesn’t have a huge impact on its own, when used in conjunction, you can create a more influential online presence.

Email Marketing

A tried and still a true method of connecting with your market. If used appropriately, email marketing keeps your brand top of mind and provides valuable information to your target market.

Content Marketing

Content is king on the Internet. Without content, visitors do not understand your products and services. Ongoing content provides context and expands on the value that your company can provide.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Optimizing website content and message to assist search engines in understanding your customers, location, products, and services help your website place on the first few pages of a search engine. Over 90% of search visits come from the first 2 pages of search results.

Social Media

Social media, although relatively new, is totally integrated into our communication patterns and is a critical method of sharing and promoting businesses.

PERSONAL BRANDING:

Personal branding is the conscious and intentional effort to create and influence public perception of an individual by positioning them as an authority in their industry, and differentiating themselves from the competition, to ultimately advance their career, increase their circle of influence, and have a larger impact. The process of personal branding involves finding your uniqueness, innovation in building a reputation on the things you want to be known for, and then allowing yourself to be known for them. Ultimately, the goal is to create something that conveys a message and that can be monetized. Personal branding has gained significance due to the use of the internet, as social media and online identities affect the physical world.

To build up your personal brand i.e Mass Trust Blueprint here are some important points to remember

  • Learn — There’s a saying by Mahatma Gandhi that “Live every day like it’s your last and learn every day as you will live forever”. Learning new skills every day improves your concepts and procedures on the skills.
  • Work — Not only learning but also trying them to implement in your daily life such as freelancing so that it increases your skills and refines them.

When work is a pleasure, life is a joy! When work is a duty, life is slavery.

  • Blog — Write everything whatever you learn. This habit sharpens your writing skills and helps you to summarize things.

Writing is the best way without being interrupted.

  • Consult — Now you have a personal brand through a blog start consulting other businesses.
  • Mentor — Then start mentoring others. This improves your communication skills and lets you go deep into the topic which refines your understanding of the topic.
  • Startup — Now you are all ready for the startup. Start your own business or product with the developed marketing skills.

I tried to cover most of the topics that we learned and thanks for supporting my previous blog. See you in my next blog with more information, not sure that would be about digital marketing, but can ensure that it will be a pretty interesting one.
